This is the first monograph on the work of this exceptional contemporary artist from Afghanistan. Born in Kabul in 1973, Lida Abdul left her native city five years after the Soviet invasion of 1979. She was sent to India, and lived in Germany in exile. Later she settled in the United States and did not return to Kabul for many years.When visiting Afghanistan again, she encountered total devastation in her native country. Lida Abdul
