Drumming for Peace, Pamoja Kungoma Ya Amani (together around the drum of peace, in Swahili) in 2008 consists of a tour of three drumming groups from DRC, Rwanda and Burundi in their respective countries as well as neighbouring countries to celebrate their heroes and to promote peace. Iranian film maker Maziar Bahari is filming the events and making a doumentary of this unique tour that celebrates peace. read more

ArchiAfrika organises the manifestation African Perspectives in cooperation with Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture from 6 to 8 December 2007. The Prince Claus Fund supported the centerpiece of the event, which will be an exhibition of the work of Titus Matiyane entitled ‘Cities of the World’. Matiyane lives and works a township close to Pretoria. His panoramic drawings (1.5 metres high and from 6 to 46 metres long) give the impression that the artist has studied cities and landscapes from the air. However, his first panoramas date from the early 1990s but he did not fly for the first time until 1998. Read more on www.archiafrika.com
Africa Remix: Contemporary Art of a Continent features the work of more than 80 artists from 25 countries on the African continent and the diaspora. It is considered to be the largest exhibition of contemporary African art ever seen in Europe, it includes painting, sculpture, installation, video, drawing, photography and design. Prince Claus Fund supported the travel of the exhibition to Johannesburg. Read more
The Prince Claus Fund and the Mondriaan Foundation, both cultural organizations based in the Netherlands, organised for the fourth consecutive year an orientation travel for Dutch and foreign art professionals, this time they visited Mexico and Curacao. Read more

The Africana Studies and Research Center at Cornell University, New York (USA) hosted the symposium 'Imaging Ethiopia, Monarchy and Modernity' to generate research and papers related to the photographic archive of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies. The symposium aims to promote a dialog between African and African Diaspora specialists through an exploration of Ethiopia’s influential history ranging from its era of monarchs through to the contemporary modern. The results of the symposium and research will be used as input for the publication Research on Ethiopian Photography that will be published as a Prince Claus Fund Library book. read more

Om het culturele debat te stimuleren, organiseert en steunt het Prins Claus Fonds, over de hele wereld, evenementen die interculturele uitwisseling mogelijk maken. Deze uitwisseling vindt plaats in de vorm van (internationale) congressen, lezingen, vergaderingen en/of tentoonstellingen.
De resultaten van deze uitwisseling worden aan een breder en groter publiek gepresenteerd in de vorm van artikelen, boeken en websites.
Een creatieve omgeving wordt gecreëerd waarin nieuwe opvattingen kunnen worden gepresenteerd en nieuwe partijen kunnen deelnemen aan het debat. De evenementen zijn ook richtinggevend bij het bepalen van richting voor de te leveren bijdragen op het gebied van cultuur en ontwikkeling.
