Marres organiseert samen met het Prins Claus Fonds een tentoonstelling rond het werk van Oumou Sy. Beauty is a basic need
In February 2006 the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan presented Africa Remix, Contemporary Art of a Continent, the largest exhibition of contemporary African art ever seen in Europe. The exhibition was shown in Dusseldorf, Germany, London, Great Britain and Paris, France before. The contribution of the Prince Claus Fund was € 10.000 and thus financed the creation of new works of art by Abdoulaye
Konaté from Mali and Pume from Congo DRC for the exhibition.

Het Prins Claus Fonds onderzoekt en analyseert schoonheid in allerlei culturele contexten. Het Fonds stimuleert het creëren van schoonheid op plaatsen waar het lelijke lijkt te hebben overwonnen, door oorlog, slecht overheidsbeleid en/of andere oorzaken. Het Fonds heeft daartoe het Cultural Emergency Response opgericht voor het redden van cultureel erfgoed in rampgebieden.
