Op donderdag 2 februari interviewde Hanneke Groenteman kookboekenschrijfster Claudia Roden in De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. In het kader van de tentoonstelling 'Jodendom. Een wereld vol verhalen' organiseerden het Prins Claus Fonds en De Nieuwe Kerk deze avond waarop Claudia Roden verhalen vertelde over haar zoektocht naar Joodse gerechten overal ter wereld.

In Memoriam André...
The Prince Claus Fund is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of André Alexander by an heart attack on the 21st of January. André Alexander founded the award winning Tibet Heritage Fund. The Prince Claus Fund collaborated with the Tibet Heritage Fund on the restoration of the Kartsog Lhakang in Yushu, Tibet and just started a conservation awareness mission in Sikkim, India.

Shahidul's Journey
The Prince Claus Fund organised the book presentation of the photo book My Journey as a Witness by Shahidul Alam on 24 January 2012. In Foam Amsterdam Shahidul passionately told the story of his journey to becoming among other a photographer and a cultural activist who in his own way fights for justice and equality in his country Bangladesh. Wat is het belang van culturele noodhulp voor erfgoed? Op 19 januari 2012 organiseerde Bijzondere Collecties van de Universiteit van Amsterdam in samenwerking met het Prins Claus Fonds en NAi Publishers een paneldiscussie rond het boek Cultural Emergency in Conflict and Disaster. Dit baanbrekende eerste handboek voor culturele noodhulp is uitgegeven door het Prins Claus Fonds in het kader van het Cultural Emergency Response (CER) programma.

Blog uit Tibet
Vanaf 14 december en de 3 daaropvolgende maanden kan men het blog lezen geschreven door Tsering Woeser (1966, Lhasa), Tibetaanse blogger en 2011 Prins Claus Laureaat, op de website van het NRC. Voor het NRC schrijft ze over haar reizen, haar herinneringen van, hoop voor, en verhalen over Tibet. De teksten zijn vanuit het Chinees naar het Nederlands vertaald door Silvia Marijnissen.

Hare Majesteit de Koningin en Hunne Koninklijke Hoogheden de Prins van Oranje, Prinses Máxima, Prins Friso, Prinses Mabel, Prins Constantijn en Prinses Laurentien woonden woensdag 14 december in het Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam de uitreiking van de Prins Claus Prijzen bij. Expositie Lives...
De tentoonstelling Lives Behind met foto's van 2011 Prins Claus Laureaat Rena Effendi (Azerbeidzjan) opende op 12 december in de Prins Claus Fonds Galerie. Bij de opening sprak Rena Effendi over haar werk, dat een sprekende getuigenis is van de menselijke waardigheid en veerkracht. Sustainable Design
The Prince Claus Fund supported the publication of ‘Bamboo: From Green Design to Sustainable Design’, a book by Rebecca Reubens. Reubens is an industrial designer who has worked extensively in the fields of design, craft and sustainability. She has for a large part worked in the development sector, and has been an expert consultant for projects involving international institutions, and the governments of different countries, alongside local NGO’s and SMEs.

TEFAF Support
The Prince Claus Fund is pleased to announce that TEFAF supports the emergency support to the Drametse Lhakhang (temple) in Bhutan. Drametse Lhakhang has been severely damaged by the earthquakes that hit eastern Bhutan in 2009 and again 2011. Drametse is one of the most important temples in eastern Bhutan not only because of its exquisite architectural beauty but also because it holds the UNESCO-recognised Ngacham mask dances.
