Dutch Postcode Lottery's...

On 26 January, the Dutch Postcode Lottery announced that it will donate a record-breaking 328 million euros to charity during the 2016 Goed Geld Gala at Amsterdam’s Royal Theatre Carré. George Clooney, new ambassador to the Postcode Lottery, was honorary guest and keynote speaker. The Prince Claus Fund was among more than 100 beneficiaries present and received an amount of 500,000 euros for its work in culture and development. SELAT Open Call...

'SELAT: Links through the Arts' calls for all cultural institutions in Lebanon to apply for grants to support new artistic and cultural projects that aim at enhancing the cultural life in Lebanon in general, and among Palestinian refugees in particular. 'SELAT: Links through the Arts' is a project launched in 2012 by AM Qattan foundation in partnership with Prince Claus Fund.

Ticket Fund

The Ticket Fund is open for applications from 1 February 2016 onwards. The Ticket Fund supports the cross-cultural exchange of artists and cultural practitioners. By covering travel costs, such as economy class plane or train tickets, the Ticket Fund assists in the professional growth and networking abilities of those it supports.

Exhibition

Newsha Tavakolian's exhibition 'I know why the rebel sings' at the Prince Claus Fund Gallery is open 27 November - 4 March 2016. The Iranian photojournalist and artist is the recipient of the 2015 Principal Prince Claus Award. 'I know why the rebel sings' is curated by Vali Mahlouji. Entrance to the exhibition is free.

The Prince Claus Fund is excited to announce the addition of two new network partners: Largo das Artes, an independent contemporary art center in Rio de Janeiro that creates wide connections within the cultural field, and Land Art Mongolia, a non-profit, contemporary art organization that raises awareness for nature, culture and social policies through art in Mongolia

Rock Art Conference

The Prince Claus Fund´s Cultural Emergency Response (CER) programme recently participated in the conference African Rock Art at Risk in Agadir, Morocco. This three-day workshop welcomed participants from across the African continent, representing countries from Mozambique to Mauritania. The workshop was organised by the Prince Claus Fund, the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and the Trust for African Rock Art (TARA) based in Nairobi, Kenya

Emergency Restoration

The Prince Claus Fund’s Cultural Emergency Response programme has supported the urgent stabilisation of the Saspol Caves in Northern India. These painted caves are a holy site with an impressive history, still used by the local community today as a place of worship. Severe weather conditions have destabilised these mountainside structures and caused damage to the images within.

New Grantees

The Prince Claus Fund and the British Council would like to congratulate the grantees selected for the 2015 Syria, Beyond Arts Programme! The Syria, Beyond Arts Programme call welcomed project proposals aimed at supporting high quality artistic projects by Syrian artists, photographers, musicians, dancers, writers, and cultural bloggers and Syrian arts organisations that focus on those displaced within and beyond Syria.

Benefit Gala

On 6 October 2015, the benefit ‘Amsterdam for Cultural Expression’ took place at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. The proceeds from this special event, an amount of 400.950 euro, go to international Prince Claus Fund projects that support freedom of cultural expression. Torchbearer Reflection

Prince Claus Fund Torchbearers Marry de Gaay Fortman and Evert Meiling supported the Cambodian hiphop crew & education centre Tiny Toones in 2013. When the dancers performed in Rotterdam, Marry and her family were there: 'Afterwards, talking to the Tiny Toones performers, my daughters were impressed by these young performers' joyfulness and their energy, creativity and the way they connected to other people: they are a great example to others.'
