Meet Ayu Utami

Writer Ayu Utami is an Indonesian rebel. In her books she is not afraid to tackle taboos that are a inextricable part of the Islamic world. Whether it is about oppression, religion or sex. Friday 25 May, in the Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam, Ayu Utami talks about her life and work, her groundbreaking debut Samans Mission and her mysterious novel The Number Fu. For her innovative work Ayu Utami received in 2000, as the youngest laureate ever, a Prince Claus Award
