The Prince Claus Fund was dismayed to learn that a British Muslim woman, Faziah Shaheen, was detained by police officers on 25 July under Britain’s Terrorism Act, on the basis of a book she was reading. The book in question was Syria Speaks, an anthology of work by over fifty Syrian writers, artists and activists that received support from the Prince Claus Fund.
