This year Prince Claus Fund’s Cultural Emergency Response programme supported reconstruction of traditional step wells by Gram Bharati Samiti (Society for rural development) in the villages of Rajasthan state in India. Series of earthquakes, windstorms and droughts caused damages so severe the wells did not function anymore.

The Prince Claus Fund is saddened by the news of the passing of Zane Ibrahim of Bush Radio, recipient of the 2000 Prince Claus Award.
