Next Network Committee meeting in Toubab Dialaw, 1st till the 8th of June 2008.
Jant-Bi will be welcoming us at the Ecole des Sables in Toubab Dialaw during the first week of June for the Network committee meeting. The agenda is stil in preparation and you will be informed of the details as soon as possible. Concerning the attendance, I am very happy to say that, apart from Solange Farkas who has not yet given me a final answer, all the members will be attending the meeting. Concerning the travel arrangements, things should be a bit less complicated than going to Bolivia. The only limitation is that all the non-African members will have to pass by Paris in order to catch a direct flight to Dakar. Concerning the elaboration of the agenda, we are still working on it but the week will include the following:
- Dancing classes with Germaine Acogny
- Presentations by each committee member on the Prince Claus Fund annual theme which should be decided upon in March
- Discussions on a theme agreed upon by all the members on a specific aspect of a cultural organisation’s functioning
- Case study of Jant-Bi and of the University Centre of Arts and Drama of Rwanda
- Advising the Prince Claus Fund on a selection of received proposals for the 2008 potential network partners
- Communication working session
- Excursions
Please send in the discussion theme concerning a specific aspect of the functioning of a cultural organisation that you wish to work on in June
During the December 2007 Network Committee meeting themes such as sustainability of a cultural organisation or the social aspect of a cultural organisation have been mentioned. Please send Joumana J.Elzein@princeclausfund.nl the themes that you would like to discuss in order to arrive to a consensus.
Second selection phase for the 2008 Network partners has started. The Prince Claus Fund now needs the network partner’s input.
After having sent out a closed call for proposal for the Network Partners Programme to 31 organisations, the second phase of the selection has now begun. This phase consists of two stages. The first one will be an internal selection of a short list of 10 or 15 proposals that the Prince Claus Fund feels would best fit into the programme. While the second stage would be sending these 10/15 proposals to the network partners who will then advise the Fund on which final two they feel should be the 2008 Network Partners.
The proposals will be sent to all the partners as soon as possible and they will be discussed during a working session in June at the Ecole des Sables.
Can you help?
Prince Claus Fund needs a list of organisations in your networks to which it would be useful to send out publications to.
