Prince Claus Fund Network News

No newsletter in August

As summer is coming up (although it does not seem to be the case here in the Netherlands…), Joumana will be on holidays from the 13th of July till the 5th of August. Therefore there will unfortunately not be a newsletter in August. The next issue will be in September, hope you will be able to wait for that long!

Reserve your dates for the Prince Claus Awards ceremony and the Network Committee meeting

This year the Prince Claus Awards ceremony is scheduled for the 12th of December 2007. The idea is to schedule the Network Committee meeting on the 10th of December, in order to have more time than last year and not be too tired after the ceremony. Please reserve your dates.

Please send any themes that you think of for the next committee meeting to Joumana J.elzein@princeclausfund.nl

Can you help?

Call for applications to participate in the ‘art in the forest’ Kenya - Deadline for applications is 15 August 2007.

The second of its kind, this year the two week International Forest Workshop hosted by the Kuona Trust, part of Triangle Arts Trust, looks to invite the Kenyan community to “re-look”  the issue of deforestation in the hope of re-igniting a desire to keep these sites healthy and alive. Interested artists are invited to submit an application with six images of most recent work, an updated c.v. and a letter of intent to Michael Soi on smichael@kuonatrust.org  . Artists are expected to support their own travel to Nairobi and should organise their own medical and travel insurance. Accommodation, food and transport within Nairobi will be provided by organisers of the workshop. The workshop will take place at Ngong Forest Sanctuary in Nairobi from the 24 September to the 6 October 2007. Visit www.kuonatrust.org for more information about more opportunities available at Kuona Trust.
