The lecture by Prof Mahmood Mamdani ( Uganda,1947) will focus on two debates, one in Darfur and the other around Darfur. This lecture will take place in The Hague and is organised by the Prince Claus Fund in collaboration with ISIM (international institute for the study of islam in the modern world). The Prince Claus Fund was involved in bringing archaeological treasures from Afghanistan to a Dutch and international public. The Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam is presenting 'Hidden Afghanistan', an exhibition of 250 archaeological objects that instead of disaster and destruction show us a completely different Afghanistan. The objects have been brought to Europe for restoration and for this travelling exhibition that can be seen from December 22th until 20th April 2008. read more
