7 December the official presentation of the 2005 Prins Claus Awards took place in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam. During the festive ceremony the South African cartoonist Zapiro received the Principal Award from His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn.
After the ceremony the Senegalese dance company Jant Bi, networkpartner of the Prince Claus Fund, performed Viewing the Summits. Choreographed by Germaine and Patrick Acogny.
