On 14 December, His Excellency, Ambassador Arie van der Wiel presented the Prince Claus Award to the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) in Lagos.
In the garden of the former ambassadorial compound, the award and a symbolic cheque was handed over to CORA representatives in the presence of colleagues of the Committee, diplomats, members of the Dutch business world and the government of Lagos State.
The event included performances by singer Seyi Solagbade and his band, the Crowne Troupe of Africa dance group and the artiste Jojo. Guests included the film producer Makin Soyinka (who is the son of Wole Soyinka), Dapo Adeniyi (a journalist and the editor of Position) and the radio producer and presenter Kayode Akintemi.
