Festina

Festina is conceived as a forum for the congregation of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora for the purpose of exchanging programmes that would enhance the ideals of Pan–Africanism, promote African unity as well as develop African art & culture. It is also conceived as a platform for showcasing Nigeria’s rich heritage in drama, dance, and music.

The 5th edition of the annual Festival of Nigerian Theatre Arts (Festina 2005) has been slated for December 1 -4, 2005 in the city of Lagos, Nigeria.

The theme of the Festival is ‘Theatre: A Platform for promoting Peace in Africa’. Participants will be invited from African, Asia, Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The Prince Claus Fund supports Festina 2005 for the Master workshops on theater directing by Walter Chakela, (South Africa) and for the Carnival Procession that are part of the Festival.

Festina is organised by the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP).
