Solange Farkas is the curator and director of Associação Cultural Videobrasil. As a guest curator, Farkas served the 10th Sharjah Biennial (United Arab Emirates, 2011), the 16th Cerveira Biennial (Portugal, 2011), FUSO – Mostra Anual de Videoarte (Portugal, 2011, 2013 e 2017), and Dak’Art – Biennial of Contemporary African Art (Senegal, 2016). Among others, Farkas was a member of the consulting board for the Netherlands’ EYE Prize of which she was nominated as part of the jury committee in 2017.
She was also the director and chief curator of the Bahia Museum of Modern Art, from 2007 to 2010. In 2015, Farkas joined the content committee of the UN Live Museum, the United Nations’ Museum for Humanity, and the award jury of the 10ème Rencontres de Bamako, the African Biennial of Photography (Mali, 2015). In 2017 Farkas was awarded to the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award, which supports initiatives for cultural patronage.
