On 15 December 2011 Prince Claus Laureate Said Atabekov will open his exhibition The Dream of Gengis Khan, curated by Marco Scotini, in Impronte Contemporary Art (Milan, Italy). After the Venice Biennale and the group exhibition Ostalgia at the New Museum in New York, in Milan Atabekov will present three of the most important projects of his career. The exhibition will be open until 18 February 2012 and will show collected works from 2004 till now.

Said Atabekov (1965, Bez Terek, Uzbekistan) is an intensely perceptive visual artist and a key figure in contemporary cultural expression in Central Asia. In 2011 Said Atabekov was presented with the Prince Claus Award. He was honoured for the poetry, depth and boldness of his artistic practice, for pushing boundaries and opening up new perspectives in a difficult transcultural context, for stimulating and fostering younger generations, and for his significant contribution to developing cultural expression across Central Asia.
